Governor of Poker is a new take on the PC Poker game. The basic idea is to win more and more money through Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournaments and/or cash games until you become the Governor of Poker. You start off in a small town with enough money for a few entries into the local eight player poker tournament. (I went bankrupt a few times before I was able to start winning with enough consistency to progress through the game.) Once you've won some money, you buy up all the houses in the town until you own the whole town. Once you've acquired the deed to the whole town, you can play a character heads up for a mode of transportation which once one unlocks three more towns. The three new towns have 16 player tournaments and cost more to enter. Eventually you progress to 24 player tournaments, which is as high as the game goes. The poker play of the computer gets increasingly more difficult and less predictable, which was refreshing.
Overall, I would highly recommend this game as it provided many hours of entertainment with an increasingly greater difficulty level. I did not encounter any bugs and it task-switched without any problems in full-screen mode.
